BruinXR
As the UI/UX designer for BruinXR’s Storytelling and Marketing Team—a newly founded UCLA club focused on VR and XR—I led the website design efforts to establish a strong and professional online presence. I also designed the club’s logo, recruitment flyers, and a variety of graphics for social media and promotional banners across platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Forms, and TikTok.

Wireframes
Home Page: Designed to immediately communicate the club’s identity and mission with bold, gradient typography and clear CTAs. It includes quick-access navigation to social platforms, an overview of the club’s purpose, and cards directing users to learn more about the team, projects, and recruitment.
Projects Page: Highlights one of BruinXR’s core initiatives—a VR cybersecurity training simulation called Phishing Bait. The layout includes a project summary, mockup placeholder, and a visual breakdown of the development process using a linear timeline to emphasize project stages from initiation to closure.
Join Us Page: Structured to attract new members and provide clarity on team roles. Each team is represented with distinct color blocks, and key benefits are listed clearly (e.g., studio access, speaker series, course credit). The layout supports user engagement with a central "Join Us" button and two contact buttons for different audiences (students vs. partners).
Post-feedback designs
After creating the initial wireframes, I transformed them from low-fidelity layouts into high-fidelity designs. To capture the VR/XR aesthetic, I used bold typography and a vibrant color palette of blues, purples, and pinks. I added a blurred, gradient-style background to create an immersive, alternate reality feel, along with 3D elements and shapes to emphasize the virtual reality theme of the club.
BruinXR Logo Creation
Initial Designs
I began by creating over 15 design variations, each exploring different ways to visually represent the virtual reality theme. I experimented with bold, high-contrast color schemes—primarily pinks, purples, and blues—to evoke a futuristic, immersive feel. Each variation tested different layouts, gradients, and graphic styles to find the right balance between creativity and clarity while staying true to the XR aesthetic. This exploratory phase helped define the visual language that would guide the rest of the design process.
Final Logo Design
During the branding process, I ran into a challenge when our original logo design closely resembled that of another campus club. To address this, I went through several iterations, exploring different shapes, color palettes, and typography styles. After gathering feedback and experimenting with various concepts, we ultimately landed on a bold blue-gradient cube featuring the letters "XR." The final design balances a clean, modern look with a dimensional, tech-forward feel that reflects the immersive nature of our club’s work in virtual and extended reality.
